Authorities say a Massachusetts man plotted to shoot up a university cafeteria and set off a bomb there because he supports the Islamic State, the Boston Globe reports.

According to court documents, Alexander Ciccolo, 23, of Adams, Mass., called America “Satan” and said he wasn’t afraid to die for his Islamic faith.

His father, whom the Globe identified as a Boston police captain, contacted the FBI in the fall after Ciccolo allegedly talked about traveling to Syria or Iraq to fight for ISIS.

Authorities say Ciccolo told an FBI witness that he was inspired by the Boston Marathon bombings and that he wanted to use pressure cooker bombs at a state university. The school is not named in federal court records. On July 3, according to court records, he allegedly bought pressure cooker at Wal-Mart and told the witness, “Allahu Akbar! … I got the pressure cookers today.”

Ciccolo was arrested on July 4, charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, and is due to appear in court on a detention hearing Tuesday.
