Montgomery County police appealed to local business owners Monday to review exterior surveillance video for images that could help in the two-week-old missing-persons case of Jacob Hoggle, 2, and Sarah Hoggle, 3.
Police specifically want business owners to check whether their cameras captured footage of either of two vehicles that the children's mother, Catherine Hoggle, 27, had driven.
On Sept. 7, between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m., she drove a silver-gray Nissan Rogue SUV, police said. During at least part of that time, she was in the Darnestown area.
On Sept. 8, between 5 and 8:30 a.m., she drove a blue-gray Chrysler Town & Country minivan. During at least part of that time, she was in the Clarksburg area, police said.
Jacob and Sarah went missing at different times. Family members didn’t immediately realize there was a problem because Hoggle had said that Jacob was at a sleepover and then that she had taken both children to a day-care program. The evening of Sept. 8, Hoggle, who has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, also went missing.

Hoggle was found Sept. 12. During lengthy questioning by detectives, she did not say what happened to the children or where they might be. She remains in custody, charged with neglect, abduction and hindering an investigation. Police have said they hold out hope that the children are alive, but they have started building a homicide against Hoggle.
Police ask anyone with information about the case to call 911 or the non-emergency line, 301-279-8000.
